Exceptional Wildlife Sightings
Labrador is a land teeming with wildlife. In Rigolet, for example, as you walk the second longest boardwalk in the world, keep your eye out for whales along the coastline. In Postville, the rugged mountains, fast-flowing rivers, and abundant forests are home to black bears, foxes, wolves, caribou, and even moose. It is also said to have some of the finest rivers in the area for Atlantic salmon. Agvituk, the original Inuktitut name for Hopedale, means “place of the whales.” And Labrador boasts the largest headed black bears in the world. With caribou, polar bears, and eagles in easy viewing distance from your zodiac in the Torngat Mountains, you’ll wonder why it’s taken you so long to get here. This is our great safari of the North and incredible wildlife sightings are commonplace.
